We would like to advise you of the availability two patches - Amlib 5.2.3 as a patch release for Amlib 5.2 Client and NetOpacs 5.2.2 as a patch release for NetOpacs 5.2.

Amlib 5.2.3 patch release delivers fixes to the Amlib 5.2 Client, for the following issues:

Borrower
- Fix error that occurs when printing borrower types.
Catalogue
- Fix several issues related to mixed (authority and non-authority controlled) tags.
- Tags in catalogue worksheet will display in order defined by cat lead thru sets.
Circulation
- Fix incorrect display of reservations on returns and chute returns.
- Fix when calculating fines to ensure grace period is observed when "Include closed days in fine calculations" is set to N.
Finance
- Fix check commitments calculation with negative amounts.
- Fix SQL error that can occur when deleting\archiving orders.
OPAC32
- Accept up to 25 characters for Borrower PINs.
Periodicals
- Fix invalid form code error in Periodicals - Circulation Lists.
Stockitem
- Fix error that can occur when printing from stockitem table window on a system with no process codes are defined.
- Fix reservation expiry date issue when deleting reservations.

NOTE: This new patch cumulates these 5.2.2 patches as well as those delivered (on 14 April) in 5.2.1 for the Amlib Client.

NetOpacs 5.2.2 patch release delivers fixes to NetOpacs 5.2, for the following issues:

Additional fixes for security checking.
Fixes to Renew All option when used in conjunction with the “Renew from due date” installation parameter.
Fix when calculating fines to ensure grace period is observed when "Include closed days in fine calculations" is set to N.
Fix issue that could cause incorrect borrower type to be used when dealing with renewals.
Use only the first ISBN in a catalogue record when building links to external resources (e.g. Syndetics, Library Thing book covers, Content Cafe) for the display of book covers.

Amlib 5.2.3 Client Patch (AmlibPatch523.exe) and NetOpacs 5.2.2.Patch (NetOpacs522.exe) are now available from the ‘Downloads and Software Updates’ area of the Amlib Content Portal at:

What should I do?

Amlib Client

If your system is already upgraded to 5.2:

Download and run the 5.2.3 Patch (Amlib523Patch.exe). This will provide you with fixes for 5.2., 5.2.2 and 5.2.3 patches.

If your system is already upgraded to 5.2.1:

Download and run the 5.2.3 Patch (Amlib523Patch.exe). This will provide you with fixes for 5.2.2 and 5.2.3 patches.

If your system is currently on Amlib 5.1:

Download and run the 5.2.1 upgrade .exe to upgrade your system from 5.1 to 5.2.1 (Amlib521Upgrade.exe)
Download and run the 5.2.3 patch (Amlib523Patch.exe).

If your system is currently running a version of Amlib earlier than 5.1:
You will need to complete the necessary upgrade(s) to take your system to 5.1 before upgrading to 5.2.1 and applying the 5.2.3 patch. If you require assistance with this please contact Amlib Support.

Reminder: When upgrading the Amlib Client to 5.2.1 ensure that if your library is licensed for NetOpacs or the DIY module, that you also upgrade these products.

Reminder: you will need to have the Amlib product serial numbers to apply the patch, upgrade or install. The serial numbers for the 5.2 upgrade are the same ones to use for applying 5.2 patches. To obtain these serial numbers you will need to request these in writing from Amlib Support, which you may do by either logging a new support incident via our Online Support Helpdesk:

Net Opacs

If your system is already upgraded to NetOpacs 5.2:

Download and run the 5.2.2 Patch (NetOpacs522Patch.exe). This will provide you with fixes for 5.2.1 and 5.2.2 patches.

If your system is currently on NetOpacs 5.1:

Download and run the 5.2 upgrade .exe to upgrade your system from 5.1 to 5.2 (NetOpacs52Upgrade.exe)
Download and run the 5.2.2 patch (NetOpacs522Patch.exe).

If your system is currently running a version of NetOpacs earlier than 5.1:
You will need to complete the necessary upgrade(s) to take your system to 5.1 before upgrading to 5.2 and applying the 5.2.2 patch. If you require assistance with this please contact Amlib Support.
