Please review the Amlib v5.3 Release Notes for full details of everything delivered in this release to determine whether your library will upgrade to this particular release:
Please Note: The Amlib SRU functionality is still in testing at this time and therefore will not be incorporated into Amlib v5.3. This SRU functionality will be part of another release of Amlib later this year. An updated Amlib Roadmap will be sent to all customers in the coming weeks. Special thanks to the sites that participated in the beta testing of Amlib v5.3. Their efforts have been very much appreciated.

Amlib 5.3 Software and Documentation

All Amlib v5.3 documentation and software installers are available on-line in the Downloads and Software Updates area of the Amlib Content Portal at:
New documentation available includes Release NotesOnline Help files and Installation Guides. The Release Notes will provide you with an overview of all Amlib v5.3 new software functionality and fixes.

Please review all documentation in the Installation Guide section before commencing your Amlib v5.3 upgrade.

Please Note: There are different upgrade processes/guides to use depending on whether your library is using Amlib single or double-entry Borrower Financials (most sites will be using single-entry Borrower Financials and should consult this documentation first). Remember to also upgrade your NetOpacs. Any other products, such as DIY/SIP2, should be updated as required.

If your system is currently running a version of Amlib earlier than v5.1, you will need to complete the necessary upgrade(s) to take your system to v5.1 before upgrading to v5.2 and then to v5.3. If you require assistance with this please contact Amlib Support.

Server and Operating System

Libraries running Amlib on SQL Server 2005 or 2008 and Oracle 10g or higher will be able to implement this new release.

Libraries currently using Amlib on SQL Base will need to upgrade from SQLBase to SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition (free from Microsoft) before any upgrade to Amlib v5.3. Please contact our support staff to discuss the migration path of your system from SQL Base to SQL Server. We realise that this migration of Amlib to another supported platform may be part of a longer term plan for your library and we are happy to work with you in this planning.

Amlib Product Serial Numbers

As part of your Amlib upgrade you will be required to enter the Amlib serial numbers for the products that your site is currently licensed for. To obtain these serial numbers you will need to request these in writing from Amlib Support, which you may do by either logging a new support incident via our Online Support Helpdesk:
