We would like to advise you of the availability of NetOpacs 5.2.1 as a patch release for NetOpacs 5.2

This patch release delivers fixes to the NetOpacs 5.2, for the following issues:

Fix for problem with renewals in NetOpacs not working. The problem was occurring if the Installation setting "Calculate renewal date from due date (Y/N)" is set to Y for any and all locations. Renewals do work if they are set to N.
Fix to address the following error message : “Potentially damaging input has been detected. Please retry your query or contact the library if the problem persists.”, which may have occurred when searching.

What should I do?

This patch should only be applied to NetOpacs version 5.2. If your library is allowing borrowers to renew their items through the NetOpacs then you must install this patch to NetOpacs 5.2.

If you are currently using NetOpacs version 5.1 or earlier, you do not need to apply this patch. When you do upgrade to NetOpacs version 5.2 (most likely done at the same time as you upgrade to the latest 5.2 version of Amlib), you will need to then apply the NetOpacs 5.2.1 patch.
If you are already running NetOpacs version 5.2 then you will need to apply this NetOpacs 5.2.1 patch.

NetOpacs Product Serial Numbers

Reminder: you will need to have the Amlib product serial numbers to apply the patch, upgrade or install. You may already have received the Serial Number for NetOpacs if you have previously requested the serial numbers for your 5.2 Amlib upgrade. If you do not have the serial numbers required for undertaking either Amlib or NetOpacs upgrades, you will need to request them in writing from Amlib Support, which you may do by either logging a new support incident via our Online Support Helpdesk:
